Utah Bird Records Committee
Official Web Site

There are about 125 bird species on the Utah Checklist for which sighting documentation is requested
by the Records Committee.  These, plus any birds with no documented sightings in Utah,
are the "Review Species."
The Records Committee deals with sightings of these birds.

  Purposes of the Records Committee:
    • Evaluate and publish reports of rare and unusual bird sightings in Utah
    • Preserve and provide access to the sight records
    • Maintain and publish an official checklist of birds of Utah
    • Maintain and publish a list of "review species"
    • Establish standards of observation and reporting in order to improve
       our knowledge of Utah birds
