We also saw 3 Barn Owls in the barn at the AI Causeway on Sunday.
Judging by the way they were jostling with each other with wings spread,
we wondered if they might be young owls, albeit nearly fully grown. At
one point, it looked as if one of the owls nearly fell off the beam it
was balancing on, saving itself by draping its wing over another beam and
doing some fast foot work.

On the Causeway we saw one Dunlin and one Black Tern along with the many
Red-necked Phalaropes and Sanderlings. On the island, at Garr Ranch, the
Northern Waterthrush was still along the stream, and a male "Myrtle"
Warbler was seen in the trees nearby. A Burrowing Owl and a Long-billed
Curlew were south of the Park Visitor Center.

On the small pond just north of Willard Bay were a pair of Blue-winged
Teal.

There were Gray Catbirds along Mountain Dell stream (the area described
by Pomera). We looked for the Calliope Hummingbird but missed it. Fox
Sparrow and Red-naped Sapsucker were seen at George Washington Park.

Finally, driving around Summit Park produced Evening Grosbeaks and Red
Crossbills.
