Trumpeter Swan Juvenile Pics

I have some pictures of Trumpeter Swan juveniles my father and I took back in
February 1995. As Sibley suggests (and my pictures show) Trumpeter juveniles
are darker than Tundra into their first summer (in this case Feb.). Thus, a
mostly white bird like the one in Salem would seem to be a Tundra. However,
Sibley also notes that some juvenile Trumpeters are white! See inset on page
72. He does note, "rare, recorded in Wyoming". So, it seems to me there is a
likelihood that not only are we seeing a rare bird, a trumpeter swan, but
we're seeing the even rarer white juvenile Trumpeter Swan. (Also according to
Sibley, the Trumpeter Swan's legs would be gray-green while the Tundra's would
be black; Nicky Davis noticed the gray-green legs...)
