northern shrikes

I observed a northern shrike on River Lane in Utah county this morning
at about 10 a.m. It was seen in the top of a tree on the far side of the

river about 3/4 of the way beyond the cattle grate on the way to Sandy
beach. A northern shrike was also observed yesterday at Farmington Bay,
about mid-way between the three gates parking area and the first bridge.

A loggerhead shrike was also seen in the area and provided an
opportunity for comparison.
