1st two birds of '05

The first several dozen birds I saw yesterday were all of the same
species: house sparrows. I guess the advantage of starting at the bottom
of the list is that the year can only get better. The second species I
saw was an extremely considerate sharp-shinned hawk that was doing its
best to help thin the house sparrow herd. Good hunting, my feathered
friend!
