Southwest Utah Winter Bird Festival



Hello Everyone,
The Winter Bird Festival is a nice opportunity to come to St. George, enjoy
birds and mild temperatures, and support this fledgling event. Hope to see

WINTER BIRD FESTIVAL COMES TO SOUTHWEST UTAH

The first annual St. George Winter Bird Festival debuts Jan. 23-24.
Designed to educate people about the wonderful birds and birding
opportunities of southwest Utah, the festival offers a variety of workshops,
presentations, family activities, field trips, and an evening dinner social.

Workshops begin Friday, Jan. 23 at 2:00pm. at Tonaquint Nature Center,
located at 1851 South Dixie Drive.  Participants will have the opportunity
to attend four free workshops being presented between 2:00 and 5:15p.m.
Titles include:

Birdwatching 101
Landscaping for Wildlife
Feeding Birds:  Feeders and Seed
Birds and Habitats of Washington County

Workshops will be followed by an evening dinner at 5:30p.m.

Beginning at 8:00a.m Saturday, Jan. 24, accomplished area birders will lead
field trips to local birding areas while others lead family activities at
Tonaquint Nature Center (feeder craft, bird origami and kite building).
Sand Hollow and Quail Creek State Parks, and the Virgin and Santa Clara
Rivers are just a few of the locations that participants can select to tour.

Don?t miss this chance to take in the scenic vistas of southern Utah and the
mild winter temperatures of St. George.  Come celebrate and learn about
