Jordan River Great Birding! (Barrows...)

Spent the Afternoon Birdin the jordan River between 2100 south and 3300
South. Alot of waterfowl. 13 species of duck, including over 20 Male
Barrow's Goldeneye about a 1/2 south of the 2400 south parking lot. Also
an American Pipit right at the 2100 south freeway. There were geese
flying into the river area by teh hundred and one flock that came in
contained two white geese. My first thought was snow geese but whenthey
landed they looked like large domestic geese. I have never seen domestic
geese fly like this before, like actually high up in the air. Could
anyone shed some light on what I saw, they looked like your basic white
domestic goose, orange bill and legs. You can seE them at this link near
the bottom half of the page:
http://www.surfbirds.com/cgi-bin/gallery/display.cgi?gallery=gallery20.

Also interesting was a single AMerican White Pelican at about 2800 south
on teh river. it was with 1000's of dabbling ducks and divers, but didnt
fly when i approached to take a picture.

Not a bad day 35 species.

Good Birding.
