saturday wildlife event

The Audubon Council of Utah and the Great Salt Lake Audubon Chapter are
hosting an important event this weekend for anyone interested in birds, wildlife,
and Utah conservation issues. Audubon membership is not required and all are
invited to join us.

The "retreat" takes place this Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, at Camp
Kostopoulos in Emigration Canyon (past Santa Fe Restaurant on your right). The
afternoon program, from noon to 5 p.m., includes workshops on fund raising
and grant writing, grassroots organizing, non-profit board development, and
water quality monitoring.

At 6 p.m., we will have a potluck dinner (please bring a dish to share)
followed by an evening presentation from Division of Wildlife Resources Director
Kevin Conway on the topic of sagebrush habitat restoration. It is a compelling
presentation, and Kevin desires a dialog with the audience on this very serious
issue.

People are welcome to attend all functions or selected events. Overnight
accomodations are available, and an Audubon business meeting takes place on Sunday
morning.

For more information or to reserve a bunk for overnight, call Jeff Salt at
485-2550.
