this clears it up even more.
Yes I see the problem with the map. IT doesn't show
the tributary that runs perpendicular to the river and Chesterfield road. You'll
see the path at the end of Chesterfield
Just park at the south end of the road where
it abutts with the trail and head west along the waterway following the path.
Eventually the path splits to the left and a dirt trail cont. along the waterway
where it runs into the Decker canal.

Hey, have you ever thought of using a luggage
carrier/dolly. I use that when I have a lot of art stuff to load
around.
