Note:  This Reservoir is surrounded by private property so please don't encroach on these private lands. You shouldn't cross over the fences or go through the gates to access this property.  You can bird this area easily from the road which runs along this property.

Directions: From Hwy 191 about 15 miles north of Monticello, go west on Hwy 211 about 21 miles.  It's right by the highway. (There are a couple of place you might stop to bird on the way -- see "birding" below).

Good Birds: (Early Summer) Redhead, Ring-necked Duck, Ruddy Duck, Eared Grebe, Western Grebe, Tree Swallow, Violet-green Swallow and Barn Swallow.  (Winter) American Wigeon, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Ring-necked Duck, Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye, Common Merganser

Birding: As you proceed on Hwy 211 you might stop at Indian Creek Canyon and Newspaper Rock CG which are about 13 miles from the 191 intersection.  If you continue past Indian Creek Reservoir on Hwy 211 about 15 miles, you'll get to the Needles section of Canyonlands NP.
