Nests in a shrub at a height of 1-5 (To 8) feet, in a cup nest. This species is a frequent cowbird host. During the breeding season, this species is an omnivore: lower-canopy forager.
  
Habitat: Breeds in Utah in lowland riparian and mountain riparian habitats.
