Nests in a conifer at a height of 15-30 (2-100) feet, in a pendant nest. This species is a rare cowbird host. During the breeding season, this species is an insectivore: upper- and lower-canopy gleaner. During the non-breeding seasons this species is an insectivore: upper and lower-canopy gleaner.
  
Habitat: Breeds in Utah in sub-alpine conifer and mixed conifer habitats.
