Nests in a snag at a height of 3-11 (0-11) feet, in a cavity nest. This species is an occasional cowbird host. During the breeding season, this species is an insectivore: lower-canopy gleaner.
  
Habitat: Breeds in Utah in lowland riparian and low desert scrub habitats.
