Nests in a deciduous tree or in a cliff at a height of 30-50 (15-70) feet, in a abandoned nest nest. This species is not a cowbird host. This species is a carnivore: ground hawker.
  
Habitat: Breeds in Utah in mountain riparian and lowland riparian habitats.
