Nests in a shrub at a height of 2-10 (1-50) feet, in a cup nest. This species is an uncommon cowbird host. This species is an omnivore: ground and lower-canopy forager.
  
Habitat: Breeds in Utah in lowland riparian and mountain riparian habitats.
