BOX ELDER COUNTY

At BRMBR, a small flock of PECTORAL SANDPIPERS was seen on Sunday, 09/24 (MS,DW). The birds were to the east of the road along the east side of the auto-tour loop, about 1/2 mile south of the entrance.

A flock of about 20 COMMON TERNS was seen at Willard Bay SP on Sunday, 09/24 (MS,DW). They were on the gravel bar that extends from the south end of the campground.


CACHE COUNTY

A NORTHERN PYGMY OWL was heard calling at about 7:30 pm on Thursday, 09/21, at the Woodcamp Trail in Logan Canyon (LR). It was just beyond the bulletin board near the trailhead.


DAVIS COUNTY

At the Fielding-Garr Ranch at Antelope Island SP, a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, a CASSIN'S VIREO, and two female WILLIAMSON'S SAPSUCKERS were seen on Sunday, 09/24 (J&KB).

A SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER was seen at FBWMA on Saturday, 09/23. It was in the pond to the southwest of the end of the west dike road. Other birds seen at FBWMA on the same day were HORNED GREBE, GREAT EGRET and COMMON MOORHEN (DW).

A SEMIPALMATED PLOVER was seen at the pond at the west end of Glover Lane, near FBWMA, on Sunday, 09/17 (J&KB).

On the AIC, a HORNED GREBE was seen on Sunday, 09/17 (J&KB). It was about 1 mile past the first bridge.


GRAND COUNTY

At the River Bend CG, along the Colorado River east of Moab, a CASSIN'S VIREO, a NASHVILLE WARBLER, and a TOWNSEND'S WARBLER were seen on Thursday, 09/21. Another TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was seen on the same day at the Matheson Wetlands Preserve in Moab (DS,m.ob).


JUAB COUNTY

A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was seen at Fish Springs NWR on Sunday, 09/17 (DW). The bird was in the residential area at the refuge. Birders must ask permission at the office to bird this area.


MILLARD COUNTY

An AMERICAN REDSTART was seen at the Kaufman Ranch near Black Rock on Friday, 09/22 (DG,JVM).


RICH COUNTY

An immature LITTLE BLUE HERON was reported on Monday, 09/18 from along the Bear River, just southeast of Randolph (PU).


SALT LAKE COUNTY

Along the JRP just north of 106th South, the GREEN HERON first seen on 09/10 was seen again on Sunday, 09/17 (JC,TH,GW). The SOLITARY SANDPIPER which was seen in the same area on 09/10 was also seen again, this time on Monday 09/25 (DG).

A TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was seen along the JRP on Monday, 09/25, just east of the Rose Park Golf Course (NA,DW).


SAN JUAN COUNTY

A female or immature male AMERICAN REDSTART was seen along Pack Creek, southeast of Moab, just below the bridge, on Friday, 09/22 (DS,m.ob.).


SUMMIT COUNTY

Eight TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS were among a snowstorm-caused fallout of many warblers and other birds in a yard at Toll Canyon, just east of Summit Park, on Saturday, 09/23 (LL).


UTAH COUNTY

The PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, which was seen along the Provo River Parkway about 1 1/2 miles upstream from Utah Lake SP on 09/17, was seen again for several days (m.ob.). The last report was from the early morning of Tuesday, 09/19.

A flock of about 12 STILT SANDPIPERS was seen along the Provo Airport Dike on Monday, 09/25 (DS). They were about 200 yards east of the southwest corner.

A CASSIN'S VIREO was seen along the Provo River Parkway, at the same location as the Prothonotary Warbler, on Monday, 09/18 (DS).


WASHINGTON COUNTY

A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was seen along the lower portion of La Verkin Creek, near the confluence with the Virgin River just west of La Verkin, on Monday, 09/25 (RF).

Three PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were seen on the sewage lagoons along SR 9, just west of Hurricane, on Sunday, 09/24 (RF).


WEBER COUNTY

At least 3 LEWIS'S WOODPECKERS have returned to the north side of Pleasant View, and have been present for the past week (IP). This is the same area where Lewis's Woodpeckers have wintered for several years.
