CACHE COUNTY

A VARIED THRUSH was seen on the Logan Christmas Bird Count (CBC), on Saturday, 12/18. The bird was seen at a feeder near the Logan Golf Course (RR).

Other birds seen on the Logan CBC on Saturday, 12/19, included a WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL, which was seen in Green Canyon (RR).

DAVIS COUNTY A WINTER WREN was heard calling in Mueller Park on Wednesday, 12/22 (CN,MS). The bird was along the Mueller Park Trail, about 1/4 mile from the trailhead, near where the trail crosses a small stream.

A HORNED GREBE was seen at Farmington Bay WMA on Wednesday, 12/22. It was along the western dike road about 1/2 mile from the south end (NHi,LL,MS).

A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD continues to be seen at the marina at Antelope Island. It was seen again on Sunday, 12/19 (CR).

IRON COUNTY The RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, which was seen in Cedar Valley west of Cedar City on 12/13, was seen again on the Cedar City CBC on Friday, 12/17 (SS). It was seen about 3/4 mile south of the previous location, along 3900 West about 1/2 mile south of 2800 North. Efforts to locate the bird on Monday, 12/20, were unsuccessful.

SALT LAKE COUNTY An immature GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was seen on the Salt Lake City CBC on Sunday, 12/19. The bird was along the Jordan River Parkway near 5200 South (CN,TN).

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was seen along the Jordan River Parkway just north of 106th South on Sunday, 12/19, (B&TC).

Other birds seen on the Salt Lake City CBC on Sunday, 12/19, included a WINTER WREN and a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL, both seen in City Creek Canyon (B&SG,MV), and a SANDHILL CRANE, seen soaring over the Salt Lake International Airport (LL,MS,DW,LW).

A LONG-EARED OWL was seen along the Jordan River at about 2300 North on Tuesday, 12/21 (BH). The bird was at the point where the river makes a sharp bend to the east.

UTAH COUNTY A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was seen on the Provo CBC on Saturday, 12/18 (NH,J&RT). The bird was at the south end of the Brigham Young University campus, along the brushy hillside just east of the Botany Pond near the Shrub Lab. It was seen again on Sunday, 12/19 and Monday 12/20 (DS).

A BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was seen on the Provo CBC on Saturday, 12/18, in the foothills southeast of town (CP).

WEBER COUNTY A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was seen on the Ogden CBC on Saturday, 12/18 (KE). It was at the Ogden Nature Center, at feeder #2, which is near Teal Pond.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was seen near Hooper, on the Ogden CBC, on Saturday, 12/18 (VAS).
