East Canyon Northern Pygmy-owl

After Glenn Barlow and I attended the Fulvous Whistling-duck party on 
the road to Bear River Refuge, we headed to East Canyon in Morgan County 
to see the Northern Pygmy-owls.  We saw one pygmy-owl at almost 5:00 pm 
at mile 4.4 of SR-66, about 100 feet above the road, seeming to actively 
hunt while taking several different scrub-oak perches.  Man, those owls 
are fast.
