This is, of course, not about Utah birds but may still be of interest to
some Utah birders. The following appeared on yesterday's southern
California birding listserv:

Subject: Pelagic Birding in the Southern California Bight

Hi, All.

Sorry for the major cross posting.

Todd McGrath and Jon Feenstra have created the ultimate resource for
anyone
who has ever considered a pelagic birding trip off Southern California.
Their two-part article "Pelagic Birding in the Southern California
Bight"
has appeared in the May/June and September/October issues of the
"Western
Tanager," the newsletter of the Los Angeles Audubon Society. PDFs can be

downloaded at

http://www.laaudubon.org/index.php?option=displaypage&Itemid=168&op=page&Su

The articles contain a detailed account for each of the 53 pelagic bird
species documented in the Southern California Bight, as well as bar
graphs.
It also offers a detailed introduction, maps, references, and lists the
three major trip providers in the area, LAAS, Searcher Natural History
Tours
and Condor Cruises.
