Re: Brant and Blue Jay

The DWR doesn't seem to be all that up on things.

What if that was the one of only two Brants left?

Regarding Steve's speculation on whether it is legal or not to shoot a Brant during the waterfowl season, it is legal. The Brant would be classified by the Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) as a "dark" goose. Waterfowl hunters (properly licensed and during the proper season dates) may take up to three dark geese per day. The waterfowl proclamation is available on the DWR web site at www.wildlife.utah.gov Responsible waterfowl hunters do not shoot at anything flying by.
