Message: Friday, September 3rd, a late afternoon drive out to the Garr Ranch 
proved to be worthwhile.   We observed most of the usual birds and warblers 
that can be found there this time of year, including Wilson's (fairly 
abundant), MacGillivray's and several Townsend's.  Of special interest to us 
was a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH that we saw along the fence line just north of 
the spring area.  We would have enjoyed watching it longer, but 
unfortunately, it was after 6:00 p.m. and the ranch was closing.  On a slow 
return drive across the causeway, we appreciated seeing many of the 
shorebirds already mentioned in other postings.
