Be on the lookout for Brown Pelicans

I thought some of you might find the messages below sent to the AZ and NV listservs interesting. In another message sent to the AZ listserv, Mark mentioned that over 100 Brown Pelicans had been noted around the state of AZ so far this summer. It appears that you have a decent shot (well that might be too optimistic, but you have a better shot than normal) of finding a Brown Pelican in the next month if you're heading down to Lake Powell or for that matter any body of water in S. Utah! Good luck!!!

Since at least 3 Brown Pelicans (BRPE) have made it up-river to the Grand
Canyon, this isn't surprising, but it does reflect the mass number of BRPE
heading inland now.
Good birding,

Today Saturday, at 08:00am Lidija and i had 28 immature Brown Pelicans
fishing
the shad in the shallows of the delta. There were also 15 Caspian Terns and
1
Forster's Tern. Other than all the fishing antics, the morning was quiet.
