Cooper's and Quail drama in Draper

It turns out that the Hawk ate only two female quail, so far. With three males and one female some domestic disturbances are starting to occur in the group. One male had to use his "spurs" and a hard belly bump to keep his "honey" yesterday. He then ran to her and raised his wings as if to hide her from the other two males. They are endlessly entertaining. My husband and I just can't stop watching and "hooting" at their antics.

A Yellow Warbler briefly visited the tree by the bird feeder.

A Great Horned Owl was seen flying over the freeway by Bangerter and I-15 at about 11:00p.m. Not a good place for an owl to hang out.
