Hi Birders
Yesterday, Jan. 31,. I took a walk up Rock Canyon at about 10 AM. I was
sitting in my car facing north and noticed Magpies diving at a "rock" up
high. With my glass eyes I could see the object of their actions. They
were mobbing a Prarie Falcon. The Falcon would move from place to place
only to be mobbed again. I observed this action for about 20 minutes
then it soared out of sight. I continued up the canyon. There were many
Sterllar Jays, a few Shrub Jays and Magpies everywhere. I heard Chuckars
from three different locations.
As I approached the parking lot, on my return, I noticed the Falcon
again. After a few minutes a few people gathered around to see what was
so interesting. I shared my observations with them as they used my
binoculars to see the Falcon It was fun to share.
Good Birding
Reed
