This picture of a cross between a Red-shafted and Yellow-shafted
Flicker (subspecies of the Northern Flicker) was taken in Dugway,
Tooele County, by Candy Zaffis. (Note the red crescent on the
nape characteristic of the more rare Yellow-shafted Flicker). 10 Oct
