Gulls at Farmington Bay

We met up with Steve and Cindy as Dave was leaving. Unfortunately the Mew Gulls and Iceland Gull were no longer around. We did see the 1st winter Glaucous-winged Gull, 5 Glaucous Gulls (3 adult, 2 juvenile/2nd winter), and the adult Western Gull. Eventually we tired of looking at gulls and headed up to Antelope Island to see the Long-tailed Duck (2 females at second bridge on the Causeway) and the Bewick's Wren (at Ladyfinger Point). Egg Island (at Ladyfinger Point) had at least 40 Great Blue Herons, along with 3 Double-crested Cormorants. Then it was back to Farmington Bay for more gull watching. We relocated all the gulls seen earlier, and finally at 5:30 we found the Iceland Gull. We only had time to make a positive ID before all the gulls took flight. And of course it landed too far out for any pictures. I did manage a few shots of the GW and Glaucous Gulls (2 photos attached).
