Description:  .Salem, a small town 3 miles east of Payson [and 4 miles south of Spanish Fork] has a residential area built around a 5 acre pond. This pond rarely freezes over in the winter and is a great place to see wintering and migrating waterfowl. There is a park and a marsh at one corner of the pond that collect migrants in the spring. This pond is very accessible and almost always productive, especially in winter.  ~ Robin Tuck
