Palisade State Park
  

Directions: From just inside the north city limits of Sterling take the well-signed road going east to Palisade State Park about 2 miles away.   

Description:  This state park has a good-sized reservoir with a boat dock, RV and restroom facilities and is right next to a golf course.  There is a $6 per vehicle fee ($3 for seniors), but you can scope the reservoir and birder from the road on the east side.
