Drive 2.3 miles, paralleling the interstate, to Stoddard Lane. Turn left (west) on Stoddard Lane (1300N.) and drive over the overpass. Turn left (south) on Hatchery Road, a.k.a. 1600W. Drive until you see the Stoddard Slough WMA sign.  ~ Kris Purdy

Description:  Across the road from the first parking lot (room for 4 or 5 vehicles) there is a marsh area with a stream passing through.  On the south end of the parking lot there is a dirt road going along a very slow-moving stream lined with marshy habitat that ends in about 1/10 of a mile (see photo above).  The road the takes off left after the parking lot leads to a trailhead and a tail that goes along the stream to a grove of trees about 1/10 of a mile upstream, (See photo below).

Description:  Good place for Soras and Virginia Rails as well as other marsh birds.
