Directions:  1. From Castle Dale go east on the Green River Cutoff Road towards Buckhorn Wash. Go about 23 miles to the recreation site on the San Rafael River at the mouth of Buckhorn Wash.
   2. From I-70, take Exit 129 going east then north for about 18 miles.

Description: The drive from Castle Dale to the Recreation area is spectacular, seeing the Navajo and Entrada sandstone, flat desert areas, washes and stopping to see pictographs and petroglyphs along the way. There are some massive, old Cottonwoods close to the water on the road to the recreation area.  ~ Mia McPherson
