Possible Projects o:

Write a yearly report on the birds that were reviewed by the committee:
 - The last report (the 17th UBRC Report) was publish in Aug 2009 and included 28 or the 37 records for 2008 and 7 of the 31 records for 2009 so we probably need a report to get the rest of the records for 2008 and 2009 then we could start to publish reports on our web pages for each year.  (2010 had 49 records -- 2011 has 36 so far)

Review the Bylaws and see if there need to be changes:
 - Lu already did this, but there may be other things that need to be changed -- the secretary or any member of the committee could make proposals anytime they want..

Publish a new official UBRC checklist for the state:
 - Although I've kept the  website versions up-to-date pretty well, we could review the codes etc., and publish a paper version which can be distributed through state and federal agencies and others that might contribute to the project.  (the last one was published in 2004)

Communications with birders about Review Species

How can we get people to submit sight records?:
Although we've gotten on average at least twice as many record submission in the last 10 years  than the previous ten years, there are a lot of Review Species sightings that go un-reviewed and so are left out of the official list of reveiw speices sightings for Utah (we do have them on the "Comprehensive List").  So it might be good to get a system going to remind people to submit records.  On our "Hotline Highlights" reports from sighting reported on the birdnet and BirdTalk we list the Review Species listing at the top with links to the county where they were seen, so it's easy to see those sighting and who reported them.  Here's a link:

We could send out a periodic report to the BirdTalk of the interesting or significant sight records that have been reviewed by the committee?:
I think it would be good to communicate with the birders of Utah more frequently so they will be reminded of the workings of the committee which might result in more sight records submissions.
