| Distance to bird: | They were high in a tall spruce tree. |

| Description: Size of bird: | Bigger than a House Finch. |
| (Description:) Basic Shape: | A chunky finch like bird. |
| (Description:) Overall Pattern: | Red, could faintly see white bars in a couple of glimpses. The second was with the adult, definitely an immature. Mostly brown with some white on wings. |

I could see that it was a “fat” bill in the quick glimpses but didn’t see the
crosses. |

When I got home I listened to the sound. Referenced bird guides. Description from: Heard first. They were going between some very tall Spruce. Noticed one was red, and one was brown. Did eventually see , very quickly, that there was white bars on wings. Didn’t see bill. Heard another one in the area, but didn’t spot |

| Additional comments: | Later, I did look to see if any had been spotted in the area. There were other sightings, but I was already confident in what I saw and heard. |
