Similar species and how
were they eliminated:
I knew bird was warbler right away from shape, bill and behavior but wasn't sure of species. Bird kept returning to tree and was able watch bird for 10 - 15 minutes and concentrate on marks. I then sat down and went through my Sibley guide looking at all warblers and felt certain it was Western Palm Warbler. I live in Houston, TX and bird spring migration on the gulf coast and pretty familiar with that warblers that come through. Not too familiar with Palm but have seen Eastern a few times.
Previous experience with
this & similar species:
Sabine Woods, Sabine Pass, TX Eastern Palm Warbler
