.. On all birds, a yellow bill with red spot, head streaking, white (or near white) eye, and yellow legs were noted. All were directly compared with Cal Gulls and appeared a tad larger and darker mantled. The mantle color was observed for a few minutes in each circumstance, to make certain that differences in back color were not due to light angle, etc.
