John Williams (21 May 2018) - [Marysvale, UT] - Grace's Warbler. Saw these birds on a lilac bush in my yard. Was a little surprised but there are some tall ponderosa pines within 30 feet of the location where I saw them. I got a good look and am pretty sure of the identification.

John Williams (20 May 2018) - [Old Hwy 89 north of Piute Reservoir] - Pinyon Jay. This is a sagebrush steppe area on the eastern foothills of the Tushar Mountains. Elevation is about 6000 feet. Habitat is sagebrush moving into juniper and pinyon upslope. I first noted 10 to 15 birds along the edge of the dirt road I was following and as I approached a flock of at least 40 birds flushed and flew west and upslope. They were making their distinctive call and were unmistakably pinyon jays.
